The Awards dinner will take place on 12th June 2025 at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. The evening is a black tie event which includes a welcome reception, three course meal and the awards ceremony.

Host: Alfie Joey
Alfie Joey has appeared everywhere from the Comedy Store & Wembley Arena to Coronation Street & Britain’s Got Talent.
On BBC Radio Newcastle Alfie interviewed pop stars, politicians, Oscar winners and Olympians. He hosts the podcast, ‘Speaker’s Corner with Alfie Joey ‘ and gives public speaking advice as the #SpeakEasyGuy Communication Coach. His TedX Talk ‘Changing Lanes’ is on YouTube and tells his story.
Alfie recently won ‘Communicator of the Year’ at the CIPR Awards.
On TV, Alfie played Vic Reeves’ doctor in the BBC series ‘Hebburn’ & he was in all 7 series of ‘Ideal’, a cult sitcom starring Johnny Vegas.
He is one half of the comedy impressionist double act ‘The Mimic Men’ with Cal Halbert. Their BGT appearance has had over 3 million views on YouTube. Alfie & Cal coach a ‘Confidence Through Comedy’ course.

Nominated Charity 2025: Smart Works Newcastle
We are delighted to announce that we will be supporting Smart Works Newcastle at this year’s awards.
Smart Works Newcastle is a north east charity that exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. Using the power of high-quality clothing and one-to-one coaching we help unemployed women fulfil their potential, get the job, and transform their lives. Last year, with their two-hour personal appointment service they supported over 700 women into employment and in 2025 hope to support over 1000 women per year.
The Northern Law Awards are giving you TWO opportunities to support this amazing charity:
On 8th May, at Judging Day, all attendees (both judges and nominees!) are invited to donate pre-loved, high-quality workwear items, such as trousers, skirts, suits, dresses, shirts, and outerwear. Donating your items to Smart Works could be a wonderful opportunity to give your pre-loved clothes a new life and help an unemployed woman unlock her confidence, while helping you feel refreshed and inspired.
On 12th June, at the Awards Evening, we will be holding a charity raffle and asking you to donate what you can to support Smart Works in their activities, while also being in with the chance of winning one of our awesome raffle prizes!

Parking
The Hilton has limited car parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. All event attendees will be able to park free of charge for the evening of the event. Overnight parking may incur a charge.
